This paper inventigates the impact of corporate governance on environmental transparency. The study focuses on enterprises in the pulp and paper, chemical, oil and gas, and metal and mining sectors as top polluters in Indonesia, including the air pollution sector. This study use 109 Indonesian listed companies as a sample during period of 2017 to 2021. Our findings indicate that the number of commissioners on the board has a favourable effect on the environmental openness of corporations, although these findings are not statistically significant. Similar findings indicate that having women on board of directors has a favourable effect on a company’s environmental transparency, although these findings are not statistically significant. The degree to which these aspects are discussed in our study affect environmental transparency favourably, but they do not contribute to a company’s environmental transparency or awareness.
